Job description

General Description

Under the direction of the Housekeeping / Laundry Supervisor, the Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning resident rooms and other interior and exterior facility areas. The role involves assisting in maintaining a clean and attractive environment for the residents.

Essential Duties
  1. Clean and straighten resident rooms, offices, and common areas, including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, polishing, and checking that resident rooms are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained.
  2. Demonstrate flexibility in shift assignments to meet facility needs.
  3. Clean and sanitize areas according to facility policies and procedures.
  4. Move and arrange resident furniture and equipment as directed by the supervisor.
  5. Clean resident dining areas after meals and adhere to the weekly cleaning schedule.
  6. Sanitize resident bathrooms and common bath areas.
  7. Maintain cleanliness of windows and walls in resident rooms and common areas.
  8. Follow the departmental cleaning schedule.
  9. Use cleaning chemicals safely, following hazard guidelines.
  10. Locate and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
  11. Respond appropriately to potential behavioral outbursts.
  12. Follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) guidelines for chemical use.
  13. Participate in new staff orientation and maintain a positive, helpful attitude.
  14. Perform Laundry Aide duties as needed.
