Job summary

The Harraseeket Inn & Event House in Freeport, Maine is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to lead the housekeeping team, inspect rooms, and maintain public spaces to hotel standards.

You will coordinate daily operations, report maintenance issues, and ensure guest satisfaction. Competitive salary ranges from $48,000 to $52,000 with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• At least two years Hotel Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Continuous standing 90% of time.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. limited
• Pushing up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work independently
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
• Hours required: Full Time 35-45 hour shift Morning (AM); Afternoon (PM); Evening; Must be flexible; Weekends/ Holidays; scheduled days and times may vary based on need

Responsibilities

• Inspect rooms once cleaned by Housekeeping to ensure they meet cleanliness standards’
• Assist the Housekeeping department with changing bed linens, restocking room supplies, vacuuming, and dusting
• Report cases of property damage to supervisor
• Oversee a team of Housekeepers and Housepersons
• Clean rooms occasionally or when necessary
• Report and return any guest properties that were left behind
• Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order
• Work with other staff members to ensure that all guest rooms meet hotel standards and accommodate any special guest needs
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

Work Performed

The Housekeeping Manager coordinates the activities of housekeeping team members and inspects guest rooms and public areas to ensure quality standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience to communicate effectively with all departments, employees, and guests both inside and outside of the organization.
