About the Role:

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Lead Housekeeper supports and oversees daily housekeeping functions within their assigned areas. This includes hands‑on work, team leadership, and quality control to ensure the highest standards are met.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to successfully perform all functions of the designated area of responsibility (i.e. Laundry, Housekeeping).
• Conducts quality control inspections as assigned.
• Performs routine procedures of a maintenance and corrective nature within assigned area of responsibility.
• Advises Supervisor of supplies/chemicals/equipment needs and/or concerns.
• Must be able to do work on his/her own with limited supervision.
• Trains with the Supervisor in job duties to prepare for possible future open positions.
• Conducts training of new personnel.
• Utilizes and maintains equipment properly.
• Ability to adjust to changing situations and needs.
• Participates in other duties, as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time, which you are qualified for and can reasonably be expected to complete with minimal orientation.
• Follows all Infection Control practices, including hand washing techniques; standard precautions; isolation precautions; and safety precautions at all times.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility and respect for self and others.
• Adheres to all Department policies, procedures, and mandatory requirements.
• Communicates professionally and courteously with residents, staff, family members, and guests.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service.
• Maintains age specific safety precautions including:
  • Elderly – No small or sharp objects or tools that may injure residents or visitors will be left out. Cleaning carts will not be left unattended. Keeps hallways and pathways clear of debris, cleaning equipment, and tools. Environmental Service closets will remain locked at all times.
