Job summary

Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor for a long-term care setting. You will oversee housekeeping and laundry operations, hire/train staff, and ensure policy adherence to maintain high cleanliness standards.

The role requires at least three years in institutional housekeeping, strong English reading/writing skills, and flexibility for on-call emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in institutional housekeeping and laundry services.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be available for emergencies during off-duty hours.

Responsibilities

• Hires and trains housekeeping, janitors, and laundry personnel. Maintains department schedule to ensure adequate staffing.
• Responsible for yearly written evaluations of all department employees.
• Documents disciplinary actions and terminates department personnel according to facility policy as necessary.
• Ensures all facility policies and procedures for housekeeping and laundry are followed and updated as needed.
• Performs periodic inspections of the building and grounds to ensure proper repair, cleanliness, and laundry service quality. Coordinates with the Engineering Department.
• Places orders for necessary supplies in accordance with departmental budget. Processes incoming merchandise, prepares invoices and submits for approval and payment.
• Performs other duties and attends meetings at the direction of the Administrator.
