Job summary

Ark Healthcare and Rehabilitation at Branford Hills in Connecticut seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the housekeeping and laundry staff in a long-term care setting. You will oversee cleaning procedures, supply ordering, and equipment operation to maintain a safe, odor-free environment for residents, visitors and staff.

You will develop work schedules, supervise performance, complete payroll, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Housekeeping Department to ensure the provision of a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
• Develops and assigns work schedules for personnel in the housekeeping and laundry departments.
• Orders supplies necessary to effectively and efficiently perform housekeeping and laundry functions.
• Recruits, selects and orients housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Inspects the facility on a regular basis to determine the effectiveness of the housekeeping function.
• Ensures that the building is maintained in an odor free and clean condition.
• Takes immediate action on any observed deficiencies.
• Maintains all necessary records.
• Reviews and evaluates the work performance of assigned personnel as well as counsel/discipline assigned personnel according to established company personnel policy.
• Completes time cards and prepares departmental payroll according to the payroll cycles.
• Ensures that all equipment is maintained in proper working condition.
• Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures and government regulations.
• Assists in performing housekeeping duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as requested.
