POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for performing daily activities within the Environmental Services Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment under the direction of the Executive Director and/or Environmental Services Supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Follow work and cleaning schedules diligently.
• Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor within 24 hours, regardless of severity.
• Participate in scheduled in-service educational classes and on-the-job training.
• Attend annual OSHA and CDC hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens training.
• Maintain adequate supplies in utility/janitorial closets.
• Report malfunctioning lights and other safety issues promptly.
• Assist with lifting heavy equipment and supplies as needed.
• Clean and disinfect work areas, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and surfaces daily.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Perform isolation cleaning procedures as per infection control protocols.
• Keep work areas clean and equipment properly stored.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, stretch, and walk during work hours. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
