Apple Rehab Saybrook is seeking a part-time Housekeeping/Laundry Aide to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. The role involves cleaning resident rooms and common areas, following infection control procedures, and supporting daily house-keeping tasks at our Connecticut facility.

The position pays $17.00 per hour for 16 hours per week, with per diem scheduling options. Applicants should be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and following written and verbal instructions in

Qualifications

• Ability to read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take appropriate action.
• Ability to visually assess all aspects of facility.
• Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages.
• Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop and have fine hand coordination.
• Ability to lift and move furniture and heavy items weighing approximately 40 pounds.

Job Description:

TheHousekeeping/ Laundry Aideprovides quality housekeeping services, and a clean, orderly and safe environment for all facility residents and staff.

As defined in job routines or department instructions, theHousekeeping/ Laundry Aidecleans assigned areas of the facility, included but not limited to: resident rooms and bathrooms, on a scheduled basis to meet high standards of cleanliness, infection control, safety and hazardous communication program. TheHousekeeping/ Laundry Aideplans efficient use of time, cooperates with all other staff and performs responsibilities with minimum disruption to the residents and staff. Maintains a clean, orderly work area and department. TheHousekeeping/Laundry Aideassists in maintaining adequate supplies needed in the department.
