Job summary

Apple Rehab is seeking a Housekeeping/Laundry Aide to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff at our Avon-area facilities. The role is 16 hours per week, per diem, with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour.

Duties include cleaning rooms, bathrooms and public areas, following infection control procedures and assisting with supplies. Applicants should read labels in English, stay calm under pressure, and safely lift items up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• Read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Remain calm in stressful situations and take appropriate action.
• Visually assess all aspects of the facility.
• Distinguish smells and temperatures, hear and respond to pages.
• Walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop; good coordination.
• Able to lift and move furniture and heavy items up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.
• Clean assigned areas on a scheduled basis to meet high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
• Plan time efficiently and cooperate with all staff; minimize disruption to residents.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and assist in maintaining supplies.

Job Description:

TheHousekeeping/ Laundry Aideprovides quality housekeeping services, and a clean, orderly and safe environment for all facility residents and staff.

As defined in job routines or department instructions, theHousekeeping/ Laundry Aidecleans assigned areas of the facility, included but not limited to: resident rooms and bathrooms, on a scheduled basis to meet high standards of cleanliness, infection control, safety and hazardous communication program. TheHousekeeping/ Laundry Aideplans efficient use of time, cooperates with all other staff and performs responsibilities with minimum disruption to the residents and staff. Maintains a clean, orderly work area and department. TheHousekeeping/Laundry Aideassists in maintaining adequate supplies needed in the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.

  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take appropriate action.

  • Ability to visually assess all aspects of facility.

  • Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages.

  • Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop and have fine hand coordination.

  • Ability to lift and move furniture and heavy items weighing approximately 40 pounds.
