The Springfield YMCA in Springfield, PA is seeking motivated candidates for a part-time housekeeping/maintenance role. Shifts run Monday through Friday from 4:45am to 2:00pm, with some weekend work and potential to move into a full-time position.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $12.50 To $16.00 Hourly

The Springfield YMCA is seeking motivated and dependable candidates with experience in housekeeping and maintenance.

This Part-Time Position is for Monday through Fridays from 4:45am through 2:00pm and some weekends. Ideal candidates will take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members and staff.

This also has a potential to move into a Full Time Position.

POSITION SUMMARY

Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• 1. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.
• 2. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• 3. Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
• 4. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• 5. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• 6. Sets up furniture/equipment according to daily schedule for events.
• 7. Performs duties with Housekeeper/Custodian II or higher.
• 8. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• 9. Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.
• 10. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.

Qualifications

• 1. Minimum age of 16.
• 2. Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• 3. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• 4. Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• 5. Completion of required trainings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• 1. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
• 2. Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30 feet.
• 3. Ability to work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
• 4. Ability to paint, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.
• 5. Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
• 6. Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi - reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.
• 7. Able to lift and carry 15-50lbs.
• 8. Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety.
