Job summary

Double Tree Bloomington Minneapolis South is seeking a Houseperson to support laundry and housekeeping operations, ensuring linen cleanliness, timely delivery, and neat presentation throughout the hotel.

As a friendly, visible team member you will load and organize linen carts, track inventory, assist with deep-cleaning tasks, greet guests, respond to requests, and work a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays to maintain exceptional guest experiences.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Houseperson reports directly to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager. This highly visible position provides a strong presence throughout the hotel and active engagement with hotel guests. The Houseperson is responsible for supporting the hotel’s day-to-day laundry and housekeeping operations by ensuring consistency in linen cleanliness, delivery, availability, and presentation to guests.

• Deliver clean linens with care: Distribute fresh linens to designated areas throughout the hotel, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
• Organize linens efficiently: Sort and store linens by size, color, and department
• Prepare delivery carts: Load and organize linen carts according to established guidelines
• Track inventory needs: Conduct linen and cleaning supply counts, complete inventory forms, and identify restocking requirements
• Maintain accurate records: Document all linen deliveries and returns to ensure inventory accuracy
• Support equipment and property maintenance: Identify and report any repair needs or maintenance deficiencies to ensure a well-kept property
• Ensure an orderly workspace: Keep all designated areas clean, neat, and organized, including assigned offices, desks, supply rooms, and storage carts to ensure efficient hotel operations
• Delight our guests: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, respond courteously to guest requests, deliver requested items, and resolve laundry and housekeeping service requests promptly
• Handle special projects: Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks as needed or required by brand standards, such as flipping mattresses, moving furniture, waxing floors, shampooing carpets, and cleaning storage carts and closets

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Must report to work on time
• Must be present and able to work all shifts on-site
• Must have open availability Monday-Sunday and be available to work weekends
• Must be able to work the necessary hours and a rotating schedule to meet the operational needs of the business, including days, weekends, holidays and key events
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be currently eligible to work in the United States of America and able to present required identity and employment authorization documents as required to complete the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, on the first day of employment.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

AVAILABILITY

Double Tree Bloomington Minneapolis South operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed work day, to include Holidays, or time of work if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the amount of hours per week that you will work and that hours may fluctuate each week based on the needs of a 24/7 operation, including days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
