The Stellar Care Group is hiring a Housekeeping Floor Technician to maintain clean, safe floors across the facility. You will sweep, mop, scrub, wax, buff, and operate floor-care equipment while following infection-control and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in housekeeping or custodial services preferred.
• Ability to lift and operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hard-surface floors, carpets, and other flooring surfaces throughout the facility.
• Sweep, dust mop, vacuum, mop, scrub, strip, wax, buff, and refinish floors as required.
• Operate floor-care equipment such as automatic scrubbers, floor buffers, burnishers, carpet extractors, wet/dry vacuums, and other related equipment.
• Perform carpet cleaning, spot removal, extraction, and other carpet-care procedures.
• Prepare and use cleaning and disinfecting solutions according to manufacturer instructions and facility procedures.
• Place appropriate warning signs and barriers when floors are wet or being treated.
• Maintain equipment in clean and proper working condition and report equipment malfunctions or repair needs.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Maintain housekeeping closets, equipment rooms, and supply areas in an organized and sanitary condition.
• Assist the housekeeping team with general cleaning duties when needed.
• Follow established infection-control, sanitation, safety, and chemical-handling procedures.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with residents, patients, guests, employees, and visitors.
• Complete assigned work within established schedules and quality standards.
• Report spills, hazards, damaged flooring, or other maintenance concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Housekeeping Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and attractive floors and assigned areas throughout the facility. This position performs routine and specialized floor-care duties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet care. The Floor Technician operates cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Housekeeping Floor Technician Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning supplies and equipment.

• Excellent personal hygiene.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.

Experience

• Previous experience in housekeeping, environmental services, custodial services, or floor care preferred.

• Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment preferred.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning supplies and equipment.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
