Responsibilities include handling linens, disposing waste, restocking supplies, and performing occasional deep cleaning. The role requires flexibility with shifts, weekend work, and adherence to safety and infection control standards.

• Knowledge of material safety data sheets and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

• Perform assigned cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing.
• Empty hampers, transport soiled linen, empty trash and medical waste containers, including sharps.
• Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies like toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and report necessary repairs; log equipment appropriately.
• May perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removal of heavily soiled items.
• Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors, meeting or exceeding customer‑service goals.
• Work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision; interpret and follow verbal and written instructions.

The associate will work as part of the environmental service team, ensuring a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to patients, staff, and visitors.

Job Details

Location: Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, 5555 W Thunderbird Rd, Glendale, AZ 85306

Shift: Varied – Sunday to Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. Note: This is not a full‑time, benefits‑eligible position; weekend shift differentials apply at $1.00 per hour for weekend shifts and 18% for night shifts when applicable.

Background check and drug screen are required. All employees must receive their annual flu vaccine. Onboarding must be completed in a timely manner, or the job offer may be rescinded.
