POSITION: Evening Housekeeping Supervisor
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Evening Housekeeping Supervisor contributes to guest comfort, care, and safety by maintaining high standards of cleanliness in public and guest room areas. The Supervisor oversees the evening housekeeping staff to ensure high customer satisfaction and promptly addresses guest requests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Organizes, supervises, and inspects cleaning operations to ensure timely and proper completion in guest rooms, hallways, public areas, restrooms, offices, and meeting spaces.
- Develops training programs and manuals for housekeeping staff in collaboration with Assistant Rooms Managers.
- Assists in planning and executing deep cleaning of rooms and public areas with the Public Area/Floor Supervisor and Assistant Rooms Managers.
- Works with the Floor Attendant Supervisor to oversee routine inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
- Collaborates with the Night Manager to exceed guest expectations regarding service.
- Coordinates with the Floor Supervisor to ensure seamless work transition into evening and overnight shifts.
- Conducts daily shift briefings, organizes, and assigns work to staff for efficiency and guest service.
- Issues supplies and equipment to staff as needed.
- Performs daily inspections of hallways and public areas, recommends repairs or replacements, and maintains cleanliness standards.
- Ensures cleanliness of glass doors and windows throughout the building.
- Prepares and updates the Housekeeping report, prioritizes room cleaning, and manages work assignments.
- Communicates room status updates with Front Desk, Call Center, and Housekeeping staff promptly.
- Sets and communicates standards of cleanliness for guest and public rooms.
- Initiates work orders for repairs and follows up on completion.
- Monitors cleaning procedures, chemicals, and product effectiveness.
- Prepares written communications and staff evaluations.
- Performs routine tasks independently and efficiently.
- Communicates clearly in English with guests, visitors, and staff.
- Performs physical tasks including reaching, bending, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Inspects work quality through various senses for cleanliness standards.
- Performs housekeeping functions such as sweeping, shoveling snow, cleaning windows, and trash removal.
- Lifts up to 30 pounds, carries items up to 50 feet, and walks up to 5 miles daily.
- Maintains visual acuity and responds effectively in emergencies.
- Operates vehicles safely per hotel traffic rules.
- Ensures compliance with safety and operational regulations.
- Identifies problems, develops solutions, and implements corrective actions.
- Uses Windows-based software including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiently.
- Produces organized, error-free documentation and proofreading.
- Performs basic math functions accurately.
- Maintains professional appearance and adheres to grooming standards.
- Demonstrates knowledge of hotel service standards and historical information.
- Maintains a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
- Builds positive relationships with staff and participates in training and events.
- Ensures proper documentation and adherence to protocols and PPE standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Driver’s License; minimum age 21, or 20 with two years of licensed driving experience.
- Experience in resort/hotel/motel housekeeping preferred.
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience required.
