Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Environmental Service professional to clean and maintain areas around the medical center, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.

Candidates should have good English communication, and be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting. HS diploma or GED preferred; one year of hospital environmental services experience is a plus. Weekends and holidays are required, with on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas in the medical center to ensure a neat, sanitary and safe environment.
• Operate cleaning equipment and dilute cleaning solutions following procedures.
• Dispose of waste, including bio-hazardous medical waste, per policies.
• Coordinate housekeeping with other departments; work on-call as needed.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, cleans & maintains assigned areas & performs a variety of environmental service duties in & around the medical center in order to maintain a neat, orderly, sanitary, & safe environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Upholds KPs Policies & Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities & applicable state, federal & local laws
• Cleans equipment, surgical areas, storage areas, furniture & beds
• Cleans spills & flooded areas
• Deep cleans, sanitizes rooms, mattresses, vents, & bathrooms
• Operates electrical cleaning equipment
• Strips, cleans, & polishes floor & wall surfaces vacuum carpet areas
• Dilutes cleaning solutions
• Collects & disposes of waste including bio-hazardous medical waste according to Policies & Procedures, ensures bio-hazardous waste is stored & locked in approved areas
• Coordinates housekeeping functions w/ other departments
• May perform other duties as required
