Qualifications

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director of Housekeeping or designee, and in coordination with the Director of Property, the Housekeeping Associate manages daily housekeeping operations and soft maintenance tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, pressure washing, and disinfecting sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good repair of Y buildings and grounds, including routine maintenance like light replacement and snow removal.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap and paper towels as needed.
  • Assist with property needs including painting, landscaping, and minor repairs.
  • Organize and maintain housekeeping storage areas.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System, Asset Essentials, for work orders and service requests.
  • Uphold Y core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Report repairs and safety hazards, and ensure security during shifts.
  • Set up or take down furniture for meetings and events as needed.
  • Attend relevant meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all management levels.
  • Efficient organization and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, communicate courteously, and provide excellent service.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret SDS, reports, manuals, and correspondence; prepare reports.
  • Familiarity with computers and mobile devices is preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • At least one year of cleaning/housekeeping or related experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices in cleaning and maintenance.

Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within three months of hire.
