POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director of Housekeeping or designee, and in coordination with the Director of Property, the Housekeeping Associate manages daily housekeeping operations and soft maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, vacuuming, and disinfecting sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
  • Maintain the buildings and grounds, including routine repairs like light bulb replacement, ceiling tile repairs, and snow removal.
  • Restock supplies like soap and paper towels as needed.
  • Assist with property needs, including painting, landscaping, and minor repairs.
  • Organize housekeeping storage areas.
  • Use Asset Essentials for work orders and service requests.
  • Uphold Y core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Report repairs and security issues, and ensure property safety.
  • Set up and take down furniture for meetings and events.
  • Attend relevant meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills

  • Ability to collaborate with all management levels.
  • Effective organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and courteous service.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret SDS, reports, and manuals, and prepare reports.
  • Familiarity with computers and mobile devices is preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

  • At least one year of cleaning/housekeeping or related experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and maintenance tools.

Certifications

  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within three months of hire.
