POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director of Housekeeping or designee, and in coordination with the Director of Property, the Housekeeping Associate manages daily housekeeping operations and soft maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, vacuuming, and disinfecting sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good repair of Y buildings and grounds, including routine maintenance like light bulb replacement and snow removal.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap and paper towels as needed.
  • Assist with property needs like painting, landscaping, and minor repairs.
  • Organize housekeeping storage areas.
  • Use the Asset Essentials system for work orders and service requests.
  • Uphold Y core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Report repairs and safety hazards, and ensure property security during shifts.
  • Assist with setup and takedown for meetings and events.
  • Attend relevant meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all management levels.
  • Organizational skills and technical problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication skills and courteous service orientation.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret SDS, reports, and manuals.
  • Familiarity with computers and mobile devices is preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • At least one year of cleaning/housekeeping or related experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and maintenance practices.

Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within three months of hire.
