Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director of Housekeeping or designee, and in coordination with the Director of Property, the Housekeeping Associate manages daily housekeeping operations and performs soft maintenance tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, pressure washing, vacuuming, and disinfecting sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
  • Maintain the buildings and grounds, including routine maintenance like light bulb replacement, ceiling tile repairs, and snow removal.
  • Restock supplies such as soap and paper towels as needed.
  • Assist with property needs including painting, landscaping, and minor repairs.
  • Organize housekeeping storage areas.
  • Use the Asset Essentials system for work orders and service requests.
  • Uphold Y core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Report repairs and security issues, and ensure property safety during shifts.
  • Set up and take down furniture for meetings and events.
  • Attend relevant meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all management levels.
  • Organizational skills and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and communicate courteously.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to read SDS, reports, manuals, and prepare written and oral reports.
  • Familiarity with computers and mobile devices is preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • At least one year of cleaning/housekeeping or related experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and maintenance practices.

Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within three months of hire.
