The role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety in patient areas, requiring strong customer service and communication skills. 8am-4:30pm, 32 hours per week to include weekend and holiday rotation. Generous sign on bonus opportunity. Additional weekend incentive of $1.25/hour.
Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. Tasks include but are not limited to: emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment; apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff. May be responsible for cleaning locations such as patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards. Wear proper PPE following guidelines. Keep storage, equipment and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Environmental Services Technicians will have access to pagers and other technology to use appropriately when needed. Assist in the laundry areas as appropriate. Depending on location and program availability, may have access to use of technology applications. Physical activities include movements such as bending, lifting up to 40-50 lbs, climbing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials. May be exposed to noise from equipment. Work hours vary by patient/resident needs and may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
