Job Description

• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (Works every other weekend and every holiday)
• Location: Prentice; FL BS (Assignments as needed)
• Union Hourly Compensation: $20.15 per hour (+ $0.97/hour for shift pay differential, non-negotiable). The role is non-exempt and eligible for overtime.

The Housekeeping Assistant Specialist I supports the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.

This position, under the supervision of the Environmental Services supervisor, assists in orienting new staff and performs general and heavy cleaning duties in various hospital areas, including operating rooms, patient rooms, offices, and public spaces.

Responsibilities include:

• Vacuuming carpets and damp mopping hard floors
• Assisting in staff orientation
• Performing cleaning duties across multiple hospital areas using approved chemicals and equipment
• Cleaning windows sills, waste baskets, blood and body fluids, and arranging furniture
• Refinishing floors, operating cleaning machinery, moving furniture, and maintaining equipment
• Properly disposing of waste, including bio-hazardous materials
• Transporting hospital property and cleaning patient and operating rooms thoroughly
• Logging into the Bed Tracking system and updating bed statuses
• Other duties as assigned, including heavy-duty cleaning and equipment maintenance

Qualifications

• Required: Ability to understand oral instructions
• Preferred: High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years of experience
