Position Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in patient rooms, patient areas, and hallways.

Reports To

Housekeeping Supervisor

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand Standard English
• Effective tactful communication with patients, families, staff, and visitors

Physical Demands

• Stand for 7-8 hours daily
• Stoop, kneel, bend, climb as needed
• Lift 20-25 pounds frequently
• Lift 50-75 pounds occasionally
• Move heavy furniture (75-100 pounds) occasionally
• Adequate vision, hearing, and communication skills
• Work safely with cleaning chemicals

Duties and Responsibilities

Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning patient bathrooms (sinks, toilets, tubs, showers)
• Emptying trash in patient rooms, bathrooms, activity areas, and others
• Cleaning patient rooms (mopping, buffing, dusting)
• Cleaning hallways (sweeping, mopping, stripping, buffing)
• Cleaning walls, furniture, and equipment as needed
• Following safety procedures with chemicals
• Adhering to cleaning schedules
• Performing other duties as assigned
