Job summary

Optalis Healthcare seeks a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a safe, sanitary, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will perform daily cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, and bathrooms, assist with terminal cleaning, and support infection control and survey readiness.

You should be able to operate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, and demonstrate strong organizational skills while respecting resident dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions.
• Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per facility standards.
• Perform terminal cleaning of resident rooms as needed.
• Clean windows, walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture according to schedules.
• Handle and dispose of waste, including biohazardous waste, per facility procedures.
• Monitor for pests and report concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with emergency cleaning tasks and survey preparation.
• Knowledge of infection control and housekeeping standards.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
