University Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and compassionate Housekeeping Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff. This hands-on role emphasizes attention to detail and teamwork.

You will clean and sanitize rooms and common areas, dust surfaces, empty trash, and ensure odor control while following infection prevention and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Dependable, positive, and team oriented.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment.
• Basic reading, writing, communication, and computer skills.
• Previous housekeeping, environmental services, healthcare, hotel, or custodial experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, dining areas, hallways, and other facility areas.
• Dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, beds, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Empty trash, replenish supplies, and maintain odor control.
• Sweep, mop, buff, and clean floors and carpets as assigned.
• Maintain housekeeping equipment, utility rooms, and storage areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Respect resident rights, privacy, dignity, and property.
• Work cooperatively with other departments to support our residents and facility operations.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that involves regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
