Under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Aide is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in assigned areas, following established policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility.

General Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas as instructed, according to the schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.), using approved cleaning agents and equipment, following proper procedures.
• Dust, damp wipe, spot clean, wash, sanitize, and polish all fixtures, furnishings, and furniture in resident rooms, including TVs, radios, pictures, feeding tables, light fixtures, shelves, chairs, beds and frames, nightstands, bed rails, and other surfaces.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Must have patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled.
• Must be capable of performing essential job functions and physical and sensory requirements.
