Job summary

Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA is hiring a Housekeeping Aide for weekend shifts to maintain a clean, safe environment for Residents.

You'll perform cleaning tasks, sanitize rooms, and support infection control while respecting Residents' privacy and dignity. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one year of housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a housekeeping role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes Resident rooms, offices, hallways and other areas inside the facility.
• Cleans vents, fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of Resident rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures.
• Maintains infection control and standard precaution practices at all times. Follows safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment.
• Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents and interacts with them in a respectful manner.
• Responds promptly to call lights when working in Resident care areas.
• Communicates effectively with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Attends and participates in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Summary/Objective

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Housekeeper plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and housekeeping services to all Residents in the facility.The Housekeeper is responsible maintaining environmental and infection control standards by performing a variety of general cleaning tasks.

Essential Functions

• Cleans and sanitizes Resident rooms, offices, hallways and other areas inside the facility as well as outside and the entire property.
• Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of Resident rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolations procedures when cleaning isolation rooms.
• Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times.Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
• Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents/residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
• Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Resident care areas.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
