Job summary

Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper Aide to join a caring long-term care team. This weekend-focused role supports residents by maintaining clean, safe rooms and common areas, while upholding infection control standards and superior service.

Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms and common spaces, responding to call lights, and collaborating with staff to ensure a comfortable, dignified environment for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes Resident rooms, offices, hallways and other areas inside the facility.
• Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of Resident rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures when cleaning isolation rooms.
• Maintains infection control and standard precaution practices at all times.
• Following established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
• Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents and interacts with them warmly and respectfully.
• Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Resident care areas.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Summary/Objective

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Housekeeper plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and housekeeping services to all Residents in the facility.The Housekeeper is responsible maintaining environmental and infection control standards by performing a variety of general cleaning tasks.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

• One year experience in a housekeeping role.
