Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily following facility protocols.
• Mops, sweeps, dusts, washes windows, shampoos and vacuums as required.
• Empties trash, replaces liners, and disposes of trash properly.
• Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Attends required in-services and complies with policies and procedures.

Position Summary:

The overall purpose of the Housekeeping Assistant position is to perform scheduled housekeeping tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

Essential Functions:

Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis and in accordance with Facility protocols.

Uses proper chemicals in proper portions. May dust mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors.

Empties trash containers, replaces liners as appropriate and disposes of trash in proper receptacles.

Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.

Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows.

Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.

Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.

Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.

Has reviewed facility Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee’s responsibility to enforce it.

Attends required in-services, understands, and complies with policies and procedures.
