Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a housekeeping aide to perform heavy cleaning duties throughout the hospital to maintain a sanitary and orderly environment for patients, staff and visitors. Under supervision, you will follow procedures and safety guidelines while handling floors, carpets, walls, and patient areas.

Under supervision and following established procedures, performs a variety of heavy cleaning duties in order to maintain the hospital in an orderly, sanitary, and attractive condition for patients, personnel, and visitors. Continuous walking, standing, carrying, pushing trash carts weighting up to 400 pounds, stooping, lifting, climbing ladders and stairs, and heavy lifting. Some exposure to unpleasant odors in the work area, as well as contaminated items and strong cleaning solutions. Some hazards from improperly disposed needles and glass. Exposure to all types of weather conditions. Hazards are minimized with adherence to established safety precautions.
