Jewel Health & Rehab is hiring a Housekeeping Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Daily cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, lounges, and offices will follow facility standards.

Role includes lifting up to 50 lbs, following written and oral instructions, and complying with infection control procedures; in-person work with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in housekeeping or janitorial duties is a plus, especially in healthcare.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, hallways, lounges, restrooms, and offices.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces.
• Change bed linens and make beds as needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash and soiled linens.
• Replenish soap, towels, toilet paper, and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisor.
• Follow infection control and PPE procedures.
• Attend in-service training and support emergency cleaning tasks.

Housekeeping Aide

The Housekeeping Aide plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for daily cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and facility offices in accordance with federal, state, and facility standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean resident rooms, hallways, lounges, restrooms, offices, and other assigned areas.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces as scheduled.
• Change bed linens and make beds as needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash and soiled linens in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Comply with infection control and safety procedures, including PPE usage.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect for all residents.
• Follow daily assignment sheets and cleaning schedules.
• Attend in-service training as required.
• Support emergency cleaning tasks as needed (e.g., spills, isolation rooms).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care, is a plus.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry equipment and supplies (up to 50 lbs).
• Able to stand and walk for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
