Summary

This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital. It supports and performs tasks related to environmental care, textile distribution, and training, aligned with EMS goals. The role has no formal disciplinary authority over staff.

Responsibilities
  • Lead housekeeping operations, supervising Housekeeping Aids and others.
  • Perform full range of housekeeping duties across various hospital areas.
  • Coordinate with nurses and supervisors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Train staff in proper procedures, techniques, and safety.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety in all assigned areas.
  • Manage textile distribution, inventory, and uniforms as needed.
  • Perform floor refinishing and polishing.
Work Schedule

2:30PM - 11:00PM; days may vary.

Physical and Working Conditions

Position involves bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to chemicals and infectious materials. Work may be inside or outside, in various hospital environments.

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Selective Service Registration (for males born after 12/31/1959)
  • Complete online onboarding and provide acceptable ID
  • Participation in flu vaccination program required

Meet all requirements by 05/27/2025. Rated using the OPM Federal Wage System qualifications, focusing on key job elements such as safety, supervision, and work practices. Volunteer experience is credited.
