Whitehall Borough Post Acute is a 166-bed post-acute care facility hiring a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The role supports public areas and resident rooms, adhering to safety guidelines and quality standards.

Hourly compensation ranges from $15.00 to $16.00 with a 30-hour+ fixed rotating schedule. PT/PRN opportunities may be available within the PACS facility network; interviews discuss arrangements.

  • Clear background check in last 7 years.
  • Compassion for vulnerable population.
  • Ability to read and understand procedure/instruction manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain public and common areas such as lobbies, restrooms, and floors.
  • Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Wipe down handrails and remove dirt and debris from walls, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Empty trash and replace liners; sweep and mop floors.
  • Follow safety protocols and store chemicals securely.
  • Operate cleaning equipment per manufacturer instructions.
  • Keep carts and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Report safety concerns to supervisor; replenish supplies as needed.
  • Demonstrate customer service and time-management.

Job Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Clear Cisive Background Check- last 7 years reviewed
  • Compassion for a vulnerable population
  • Qualification High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions.
  • Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and Division.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

General Purpose

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position ensures that all areas of the facility are free of obstacles, odors, and debris, contributing to the overall health and comfort of those in our care.

Essential Duties
  • Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
  • Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
  • Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
  • Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
  • Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
  • Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
  • Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
  • Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Repetitive motion tasks such as sweeping, folding, mopping, emptying trash cans, Vacuuming and wiping surfaces
  • Use of cleaning equipment and supplies throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to needs
