Job summary

Luxor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper / Environmental Services Aide to join our housekeeping team in maintaining a clean, well-presented facility. The role offers both part-time and full-time shifts in a long-term care setting.

Ideal candidates have a minimum 10th grade education, English literacy, and prior housekeeping or environmental services experience; must pass a background check and meet physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10th grade education required.
• Must be able to read, speak, and write in English.
• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred.
• Knowledge of general cleaning procedures, sanitation techniques, and infection control practices.
• Ability to work courteously and diplomatically with residents, patients, and staff at all times.
• Must successfully pass a thorough background check/screening.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, bending, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping and environmental services tasks per established cleaning procedures and assigned work schedule.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish furniture and surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect floors, bathrooms, and common areas as directed.
• Perform terminal/discharge cleaning when a resident is transferred or discharged.
• Conduct spot checks of vacant rooms; clean and sanitize as needed.
• Follow all facility safety, infection control, and OSHA guidelines when performing tasks and handling equipment and supplies.
• Clean and maintain supply carts and housekeeping equipment.
• Respect resident rights and personal property at all times; report all found articles to supervisor.
• Assist with inventory of resident personal belongings as assigned.
• Attend departmental meetings, in-service training, and on-the-job educational programs as scheduled.
