St Michales Inn in Saint Michaels, MD is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a welcoming, clean environment for guests and residents across guest rooms, residential spaces, and common areas. You will perform thorough cleaning, laundry duties, floor care, and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens, while providing friendly, professional service and timely responses to requests.

This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team;

Qualifications

• Experience in residential or commercial cleaning or custodial work.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care, and sanitation practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing) for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, residential spaces, and common areas (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing).
• Handle laundry duties (washing, folding, organizing linens).
• Maintain floor care (sweeping, scrubbing, buffing).
• Disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and high-touch areas.
• Provide friendly customer service and address requests promptly.
• Manage janitorial supplies and notify management when stock is low.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, residential spaces, or common areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
• Handle laundry duties efficiently, including washing, folding, and organizing linens and clothing
• Maintain floor care by sweeping, scrubbing, buffing, and applying appropriate treatments to preserve flooring quality
• Ensure all sanitation standards are met by properly disinfecting bathrooms, kitchens, and high-touch areas
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest or resident requests promptly and professionally
• Manage janitorial supplies inventory and notify management when stock needs replenishing
• Follow safety protocols during cleaning procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for all

Requirements

• Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning, custodial work, or hotel housekeeping is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care, carpet cleaning, and sanitation practices
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning equipment
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional attitude
• Experience with laundry operations and handling various cleaning supplies and equipment
• Prior janitorial or custodial experience is advantageous; hotel experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail while managing multiple tasks efficiently
