Job summary

New Mark Rehab and Healthcare Center in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a housekeeping team member to maintain a clean and well-presented facility for residents, staff, and visitors.

The role involves day-to-day cleaning tasks, trash removal, floor care, and stock replenishment, with a focus on sanitary conditions. Candidates should be able to read and communicate in English and withstand physical tasks as part of the job requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Professional cleaning experience is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and tasks as assigned.
• Remove linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets for laundry.
• Empty trash from resident rooms and common areas.
• Clean floors via sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
• Remove dust and grime from surfaces using cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Keep walls, windows, ceilings, mirrors clean and disinfected.
• Stock bathrooms with soap, towels, and toilet paper.
• Monitor and report needed repairs.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Housekeeping- Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Professional Cleaning Experience a plus.
• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents and/or guest.
• Must successfully complete thorough background screen.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.

Housekeeping Duties:

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established housekeeping procedures.
• Removes linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets to launder.
• Pick up and empties trash containers in resident rooms, common spaces, and office areas.
• Clean floors (sweeping, vacuuming, wet/dry mopping).
• Remove dust, dirt, grease, film, etc. from surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Keeps walls, windows, ceilings, mirrors, etc. from surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Stock bathrooms with soap, towels, and toilet paper.
• Monitor and report necessary repairs.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Housekeeping Physical Demands

To adequately perform the essential functions of the job you must have the physical capabilities to stand, sit, walk for extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift-up to 50 pounds unassisted with frequent and/or carrying objects weighting up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, pull and do repetitive motions daily.
