Schedule: Full-Time

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-focused Housekeeper to join our team at Hillcrest Silver Ridge in Gretna, NE.

Hillcrest Silver Ridge provides a welcoming senior living environment where residents are supported with personalized care, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to maintain as much independence as possible. A clean, comfortable, and well-maintained environment is an important part of making our community feel like home.

At Hillcrest, our mission is simple: Inspiring people to live their best lives. As a Housekeeper, you will help bring that mission to life by keeping resident apartments and community spaces clean, orderly, safe, and comfortable while providing service that meets residents’ expectations.

What You’ll Do

As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining resident apartments, public areas, and other community spaces according to established cleaning, safety, infection-control, and regulatory standards.

You will:

Clean resident apartments and community areas according to established schedules.

Dust, vacuum, and clean furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces throughout the community.

Complete scheduled deep cleaning and special cleaning projects as assigned.

Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming public spaces.

Keep appropriate housekeeping supplies stocked in resident apartments and public areas.

Respond promptly to unexpected spills, accidents, and other cleaning needs.

Follow appropriate handwashing, glove-use, and infection-control procedures.

Take appropriate precautions to prevent cross-contamination between areas of the community.

Safely use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures and Safety Data Sheet guidelines.

Maintain the community in accordance with State Survey and OSHA requirements.

Monitor housekeeping supply levels and communicate ordering needs to the Environmental Services Director.

Follow established cleaning and maintenance schedules for housekeeping equipment.

Empty vacuum bags, extractor waste containers, and clean housekeeping equipment as needed.

Help care for indoor plants within assigned areas.

Identify and communicate environmental, safety, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate team member.

Respond to resident needs and requests in a timely, positive, and professional manner.

Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe community.

Assist with additional housekeeping and environmental-services responsibilities as assigned.

The position includes responsibility for daily and deep cleaning, infection prevention, proper chemical use, supply management, equipment care, and maintaining an environment that meets regulatory standards.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands how much a clean environment contributes to a resident’s comfort and overall experience.

The right candidate will be dependable, thorough, and attentive to the small details. You will be comfortable working independently while also being part of a larger community team and interacting regularly with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.

Ideal candidates will have:

Previous housekeeping, environmental services, custodial, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, or similar experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean spaces.

A dependable and consistent work style.

Ability to organize and manage multiple cleaning responsibilities throughout the shift.

Understanding of infection-control and cross-contamination prevention practices.

Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.

Strong time-management skills and the ability to follow established cleaning schedules.

Ability to recognize and promptly communicate safety or maintenance concerns.

A respectful and professional approach when working in residents’ homes and personal spaces.

Strong customer-service skills when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

A flexible approach and willingness to respond to unexpected cleaning needs.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

At least one year of experience in housekeeping, environmental services, custodial work, hospitality, healthcare, or a similar position preferred.

Why Hillcrest?

At Hillcrest Silver Ridge, residents live here every day, which means housekeeping is about more than completing a cleaning checklist. It is about respecting someone’s personal space, noticing the details, and helping create an environment where residents feel comfortable and proud to call Hillcrest home.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants a full-time position, takes pride in seeing the results of their efforts, and wants to be part of a team where their work matters.
