Safire Rehabilitation of Northtowns, a long-term skilled nursing facility located in Williamsville, New York, is seeking full-time and part-time Housekeepers. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, washing walls, dusting, changing linens, trash disposal, and stocking supplies.

• Clean air outlets and grilles.
• Vacuum rugs and spot clean surfaces.
• Dust desks, tables, chairs, shelves and cabinets.
• Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors; wash sinks.
• Clean beds, wheelchairs and commodes.
• Clean drapes; polish floors with buffing machine.
• Move furniture to access areas.
• Clean lighting fixtures and high places; use ladder when needed.
• Shovel snow and clear sidewalks in inclement weather.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• Perform all related work as assigned.

Job description

Safire Rehabilitation of Northtowns, a long-term skilled nursing facility located in Buffalo, New York, is looking to hire full and part time Housekeepers. Our Housekeepers clean and service the building areas, performing a variety of routine housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to the designated area. Follow work flow of assigned area
• Sweeps, mops and wet washes floors.
• Washes walls and trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand; using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths.
• Gathers and disposes of trash; washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
• Clean and change mattresses.
• Wash doors and door frames.
• Wash elevator doors, walls and trim.
• Clean air outlet and return grilles.
• Vacuum rugs and spot clean where necessary.
• Dust desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills, ledges, etc.
• Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors, dust and wax handrails and other woodwork. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
• Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.
• Clean louver drapes.
• Sweep, mop and wax as necessary; polishes floors using buffing machine.
• Move furniture to clean rooms and areas.
• Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
• In case of inclement weather, the housekeeper is responsible for the shoveling of snow, clearing sidewalks to make entering more accessible for the next shift.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• perform all related work as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to Fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
