Description
JOB SUMMARY
Performs daily routine and non-routine cleaning functions as assigned through Vicars Landing, adhering to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Tasks are performed under the supervision of the Director of Housekeeping/Laundry Services to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for Members, guests, and employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a quality index range of 75-89% effectiveness. Perform cleaning functions as assigned according to departmental procedures. (Approximately 45% of the time)
- Mix cleaning chemicals to proper use-dilution, ensuring they are not mixed with other products except as specified on labels. Store in properly labeled bottles. (Approximately 10%)
- Prepare supplies and equipment at the start of the shift within 15 minutes. (Approximately 5%)
- Thoroughly clean and return equipment to designated storage areas, clean up spills, and dispose of empty containers properly. (Approximately 5%)
- Report broken, damaged, or inoperative equipment and hazardous conditions; tag equipment with descriptions of issues. (Approximately 5%)
- Maintain punctuality, follow schedule, wear nametags, and ensure neatness of uniform, hair, and shoes. Communicate professionally and respect residents' dignity and privacy. (Approximately 5%)
- Use 'Wet Floor' signs during wet cleaning, prevent tripping hazards, wear gloves, and handle trash and linens carefully. Assist with equipment movement and report disasters. (Approximately 10%)
- Demonstrate proficiency in using Housekeeping equipment through practical application. Perform assigned duties as per procedures. (Approximately 5%)
- Attend annual in-services and 80% of departmental meetings. (Approximately 5%)
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Equivalent to high school diploma or GED, with 7-11 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to adapt to office and field routines.
Skills, Abilities & Competencies
- Perform cleaning duties including deodorizing, disinfecting, stripping, scrubbing, washing, mopping, polishing, waxing, dusting, vacuuming, shampooing, linen removal, trash removal, and bed making in various areas.
- Prepare and label cleaning chemicals properly, transport supplies, and maintain cleanliness of equipment and storeroom.
- Follow facility policies, maintain confidentiality, and practice safety standards.
- Attend scheduled training and meetings, and perform duties as assigned, including equipment usage and reporting issues.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Unload supplies, run errands, complete forms, and perform other duties as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, hear; occasionally reach, stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 30 pounds; work at heights; use vision skills; communicate verbally. Must have good balance and ability to climb ladders and roofs.
