Job summary

Ovation Heartwood Preserve in Omaha, NE is seeking a Housekeeper for part-time shifts (evenings and weekends), with full-time options also available. Pay range is $16-$18 per hour. The role supports a clean, safe, home-like environment for residents and staff, focusing on resident apartments and common areas.

Previous housekeeping experience is preferred. Duties include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sanitation, linen changes, waste disposal, and assisting with isolation cleaning when needed.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS ability to maintain active certification.

Pay Range: $16-$18/hour

Our Housekeepers play an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and team members. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of resident apartments and common areas while supporting a comfortable, home-like community.

Previous Housekeeping experience is strongly preferred.

Job Summary

A Housekeeper in an independent living, assisted living, or memory care facility is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents and staff.This includes cleaning resident rooms, common areas, restaurants, and administrative office areas.They perform tasks like dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, and changing linens.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Assure that watermarks are removed from fixtures.
• Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
• Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc.
• Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
• Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Perform terminal cleaning procedures, as instructed, when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area. Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
• Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
• Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, mealtimes, and end of the workday.
• Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• Assure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures.
• Coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing care; a thorough cleaning and disinfection process after residents leave an isolation room, to eliminate pathogens and prevent the spread of infections.
• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor.
• Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
• Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
• Keep work/assigned areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare facility, medical office, or hotel required.
• Must have experience interacting with residents of this nature
• Experience with various cleaning methods and equipment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate with staff and follow instructions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
• 18 years or older.
• Prefer experience working in housekeeping in a medical facility.
• Maintain tactful composure and confidentiality with residents, family members, staff and visitors.
• Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
