Job description

General Description

Under the direction of the Housekeeping / Laundry Supervisor, the Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning resident rooms and other interior and exterior Facility areas, assisting in maintaining a clean and attractive environment for the residents.

Essential Duties

1. Clean and straighten resident rooms, offices, and common areas, including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, polishing, etc. Ensure resident rooms are safe, comfortable, and maintained attractively.
2. Demonstrate ability to adapt to shift changes to meet Facility needs.
3. Clean and sanitize areas according to Facility policy and procedures.
4. Move and arrange resident furniture and equipment as directed.
5. Clean resident dining areas after meals and follow the weekly cleaning schedule.
6. Sanitize resident bathrooms and common bath areas.
7. Maintain windows and walls in resident rooms and common areas.
8. Follow the weekly departmental cleaning schedule.
9. Use cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to hazard guidelines.
10. Locate and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
11. Respond appropriately to potential behavioral outbursts.
12. Follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) guidelines for chemical use.
13. Participate in orientation of new staff with a positive and helpful attitude.
14. Perform Laundry Aide duties as needed.

Other Duties

Support essential functions of the job, with flexibility for individual circumstances. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Training: A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred, or sufficient knowledge and education to perform job functions.
