Job Purpose
Maintains the facility, common areas, and grounds in a clean, neat, and orderly condition. Responsible for achieving the high standards of quality expected for the facility, cleaning occupied patient rooms and assisting in making ready rooms for our incoming and discharging patients in a timely manner.

Essential Functions Include But Not Limited To

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
  • Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
  • Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly.
  • Maintains and adheres to housekeeping detail standards.
  • Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
  • Always introduces self to patients, families, and visitors.
  • Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
  • Transports trash and hazardous waste to the appropriate disposal area.
  • Replenishes supplies.
  • Follows all infection prevention and control practices, including Standard Precautions, Transmission-Based Precautions, and hand hygiene.
  • Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
  • Works day, evening, or night shift as assigned.
  • Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
  • Observes safety precautions at all times.
  • Wears identification while on duty; uses the computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, health plans, and staff.
  • Removes soiled linen.
  • Delivers and unloads clean linens.
  • Sets up meeting rooms as needed.
  • Other duties as requested.

Education/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-year experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
