Ensure a clean and sterile environment within the hospital for the safety, health, and morale of patients, visitors, and staff by performing housekeeping duties.

Essential Functions

• Dust and damp mop all public areas on the assigned unit to remove soils.
• Damp wipe furnishings to remove dust, soils, and stains.
• Clean restrooms according to department policies, removing all soils and stains.
• Clean and polish mirrors and stainless-steel surfaces.
• Replenish dispensable items such as paper towels and tissues.
• Empty trash and wash trash containers, replacing liners.
• Use disinfectants to clean heavily soiled sinks and showers, rinsing thoroughly.
• Ensure toilets are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
• Disinfect and clean beds, bedside tables, closets, and chairs to remove dust and soils.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms to ensure cleanliness, neatness, and deodorization.
• Make beds neatly and promptly after discharge.
• Notify relevant personnel when rooms are ready for new patients.
• Clean ancillary areas efficiently.
• Wear appropriate attire such as gloves, gowns, and masks.
• Maintain hallways in a clean and neat condition, placing wet floor signs as needed.
• Follow universal precautions and safety guidelines when using equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
