Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeper/Porter to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Perform daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning and polishing furniture, fixtures, and heating/cooling units.
Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, recreational areas, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, wax, and disinfect floors while following proper safety procedures and using caution signs.
Vacuum, shampoo, and disinfect carpets as needed.
Clean walls, ceilings, mirrors, and other assigned areas.
Remove and dispose of waste properly while maintaining infection control standards.
Follow fire safety, hand hygiene, chemical handling, and waste disposal procedures.
Properly mix and use cleaning chemicals according to established guidelines and SDS requirements.
Report accidents, unsafe conditions, equipment problems, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
Keep utility closets and janitorial areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Communicate resident concerns, supply needs, and other issues to the appropriate supervisor.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and established cleaning procedures.
Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and organization.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and willingness to accept constructive feedback.
Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting is a plus.
