Job summary

Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ is seeking a dependable Housekeeper/Porter to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This full-time role runs 7:00 AM–3:00 PM with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour.

The position requires following detailed cleaning procedures, strong attention to cleanliness and safety, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Prior healthcare housekeeping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning and polishing furniture, fixtures, and heating/cooling units.
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, recreational areas, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, wax, and disinfect floors while following safety procedures and using caution signs.
• Vacuum, shampoo, and disinfect carpets as needed.
• Clean walls, ceilings, mirrors, and other assigned areas.
• Remove and properly dispose of waste while maintaining infection control standards.
• Follow fire safety, hand hygiene, chemical handling, and waste disposal procedures.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals according to guidelines and SDS.
• Report accidents or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
• Keep utility closets and janitorial areas clean and stocked.
• Communicate resident concerns and supply needs to supervisor.
