Regency House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford, CT is seeking a per diem Housekeeper/Porter to join our dedicated environmental services team. This entry‑level role focuses on creating a clean, healing environment that enhances resident comfort and safety.

You will perform daily cleaning, restock supplies, and collaborate with staff to maintain high cleanliness standards, while gaining exposure to long‑term care operations and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Floor care experience.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Knowledge of cleaning protocols, infection control, fire prevention and safety in long-term care is valued but not required; training provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic by nature.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing common areas and resident rooms.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Dispose of trash and waste.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with other staff to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines and vacuums.

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
