Job summary

PCSI - Professional Contract Services, Inc. is seeking a Housekeeper at Pensacola NAS to perform routine cleaning tasks in patient rooms, wards, lounges, laboratories, bathrooms, offices, and other assigned areas. Duties follow established cleaning procedures of AHA, AHE, and Joint Commission.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday. Benefits include health coverage, a 401k plan, and an emphasis on safety and security clearances where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of public sector (school, hospital, clinic, etc.) related experience preferred.
• Experience using cleaning equipment preferred.

Job description

PCSI is looking for a Housekeeper at Pensacola NAS! Perform all duties assigned in accordance with standard cleaning procedures of the American Hospital Association, the Association of the Healthcare Environment, and the Joint Commission of Healthcare Organization. Clean and supply patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, laboratories, bathrooms, offices, and other assigned areas. This position will report to the Project Manager and is based at Pensacola NAS in Pensacola and Milton.

Typical work hours will be Monday-Friday.

What You'll Do As Housekeeper

• Perform a variety of routine unskilled and semi‑skilled housekeeping work to maintain the assigned location(s).
• Perform all duties assigned in accordance with standard cleaning procedures of the American Hospital Association, the Association of the Healthcare Environment, and the Joint Commission of Healthcare Organizations.
• Mix water and chemicals to create solutions used for daily cleaning according to Safety Data Sheets.
• Clean and supply patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, laboratories, bathrooms, offices, and other assigned areas.
• Sweep and mop floors using reverse mopping procedures; may occasionally operate a buffer and blower fans.
• Clean rugs and/or vacuums carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. May be required to use wet vacuums.
• Move and dust furniture and equipment as needed such as chairs, knee wells, picture frames, mirrors, filing cabinets, desktops, handrails, etc.
• Dust and wash walls, ceilings, sills, woodwork, partitions, windows, baseboards, porcelain, and stainless‑steel fixtures as needed.
• Wipe down doors, furniture, and equipment as needed.
• Stock and clean all dispensers as needed (soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and toilet paper).
• Remove and transport trash, waste, and recyclables to disposal areas from assigned location(s).
• Clean blinds and hang privacy drapes or cubical curtains as required.
• Service, clean, and replenish patient rooms and restrooms as needed (occupied and unoccupied).
• Clean carts, racks, and nursing stations as assigned.

What You'll Need

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment such as a mop, broom, wet vacuum, duster, pail, buffer etc.
• Ability to use general cleaning equipment as outlined in procedures to ensure proper usage and safety.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand service requests, container labels, product information, and “Material Safety Data Sheets” (MSDS) on cleaning solutions.
• Ability to follow directions, work rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to work as a team member and interact harmoniously with coworkers, hospital staff, and visitors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Other Requirements

• Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
• Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Subject to hazards associated with working in a health care environment that may cause personal harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust, odors, and elevated noise levels.
• Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Possess valid driver's license and maintain good driving record.
• If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
