Job summary

Buckner Retirement Services seeks a dedicated Housekeeper at Calder Woods in Beaumont, TX. You will contribute to outstanding cleanliness across resident rooms, baths and common areas, delivering courteous service and respecting Buckner standards.

Ideal candidates will understand housekeeping operations, operate cleaning tools safely, and follow English instructions to support a caring living environment for seniors. This is an onsite role with occasional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping operations or similar role.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning agents, equipment and sanitation standards.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions in English.

We are seeking a Housekeeper to join our community committed to delivering outstanding cleanliness to our residents. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in all phases of cleanliness that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

• Perform all duties in a courteous manner and maintain excellence in customer service including but not limited to cheerfully greeting residents and visitors and exercising respect with co-workers.
• Clean and service rooms, baths, and offices; dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, window sills, light globes; empty trash baskets and remove trash; clean and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items; replenish supplies of soap and towels; clean and polish brass, glass panels, doors, partitions, and paneling; check and fill all dispensers – hand soap, paper.
• Clean, mop, and treat floors.. Vacuum all carpet.
• Mix/dilute housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions.
• Move furniture as needed in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist other departments with cleaning and other housekeeping assignments.
• Keep utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and sweeping and mopping floors. Organize and maintain linen closets in a safe and orderly condition at all times.

What you'll bring:

• Requires in-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations; prior related experience preferred.
• Requires basic knowledge of house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, etc., cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements.
• Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English; ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions given in English.
• Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility on a daily basis.
• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment, and/or machines at or within arm's reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
• Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.
