Harmony Senior Services in Glenshaw, PA seeks a Housekeeper/Maintenance Assistant to clean common living areas and resident apartments, and perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks in the community.

You will follow verbal and written instructions, work well with others, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for residents. This position requires physical stamina and a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Housekeeping and maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning of the facility, focusing on common areas and apartment bathrooms.
• Perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks as delegated by the Maintenance Director.

• Report deterioration or damage to housekeeping supervisor.
• Operate laundry equipment when needed.

• Dust, vacuum and clean resident apartments and common areas.

Job Description

The Housekeeper/Maintenance Assistant shall be responsible for cleaning common living areas and resident apartments in the community. They will also perform semi-skilled manual tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the building and grounds, equipment, and appliances as delegated by the Maintenance Director.

• Oversee cleaning of the entire facility, with particular emphasis on the common areas and the apartment bathrooms
• Performs semi-skilled manual tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the building and grounds, equipment, and appliances as delegated by the Maintenance Director
• Complete maintenance request reports when needed
• Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor
• Operate the laundry equipment when needed
• Report inadequate quantities of all supplies needed to perform duties to housekeeping supervisor
• Use only approved cleaning products and ensure that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times
• Clean office areas when assigned
• Dust and clean all window blinds in the community
• Dust all furniture, book shelves, etc. in resident apartments and common areas
• Vacuum common areas and resident apartments
• Keep common area and resident bathrooms clean
• Clean apartments at resident move-out
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings
• Maintain resident privacy/confidentiality at all times. Follow all policies regarding release of resident information
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Housekeeping and Maintenance Assistant experience highly desired
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
• Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time
• Ability to work well with others as part of a team
• Polite and courteous to all residents, visitors, co-workers and management team
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet
• Must wear designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
