Job summary

The Franklin Group in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for Lynnhaven Cove Senior Apartments. You will maintain clean, welcoming spaces, prepare vacant units for occupancy, and support a safe, well-kept community.

Under the Maintenance Supervisor/Community Manager, you will contribute to daily upkeep of common areas and ensure professional appearance. Wage range is $13.00–$19.92 per hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• Education/experience: Less than high school or up to one month of related experience or training.
• Language skills: ability to read simple words and speak basic sentences.
• Mathematical skills: add/subtract two-digit numbers; multiply/divide by 10s and 100s.
• Reasoning ability: follow instructions and handle simple problems.
• Training/certificates: Fair Housing within 1 day; Harassment courses within 7 days.

Responsibilities

• Obtain list of vacant units needing cleaning and assess turnover tasks.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy and keep vacancies fresh.
• Clean model apartment(s) and common areas daily as scheduled.
• Maintain clubhouse, laundry, and amenities in good condition.
• Manage supplies and inventory; report unusual conditions promptly.
• Uphold professional appearance and safety standards at all times.

Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor/Community Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Maintains efficient operation and upkeep of community buildings and grounds in a supportive role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

• Obtains list of vacant units that need to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective Intent to Vacate Notices to prepare work assignments.
• Responsible for the preparation of vacant units for occupancy. Keep all vacancies fresh and odorless.
• Clean model apartment(s) on a regularly scheduled basis per the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Clean the leasing office, amenity areas, laundry facilities and other common areas on a daily basis, or as scheduled by the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Responsible for the daily upkeep of the clubhouse and common areas of community buildings.
• Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the community and/or the management company.
• Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the community or residents. Responsible for maintaining the required community uniform and ensuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Responsible for courteous, efficient response at all times.
• Operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
• Responsible for thorough knowledge of company policies.
• Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development.

Salary Range is $13.00 - $19.92 per hour

The base salary range displayed represents the expected minimum and maximum compensation for this role at the time of posting. Final salary offers are determined based on multiple factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, specific skills, qualifications, and type of property.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. TRAINING, CERTIFICATES, DESIGNATIONS: Fair Housing must be completed within 1 day of hire. Preventing Sexual Harassment, Workplace Harassment and Drug Free Workplace courses must be completed within 7 days of hire.
