Overview

Under the guidance of housekeeping management, the Lead will assist with the delegation of multiple housekeeping tasks, training, and orientation of new staff. They will have decision-making authority and delegate tasks in the absence of management. This can occur daily but primarily on weekends and holidays in the absence of EVS leadership.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure all discharge beds are cleaned within the required time frame.
  2. Perform regular housekeeping duties, providing a high level of cleaning quality in assigned areas and maintaining a clean work environment.
  3. Assist EVS Leadership daily.
  4. Assist in scheduling, training, and orientation of staff and all floor work.
  5. Take responsibility for the shift when EVS Leadership is not present.
  6. Delegate tasks to housekeeping staff under managerial guidance.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of chemical handling.
  8. Enforce and ensure correct use of chemicals and equipment as trained.
  9. Make decisions in the absence of EVS Leadership.
  10. Know all job procedures and operate all housekeeping equipment.
  11. Monitor EVS staff in their assigned areas.
  12. Orient and train staff as needed and provide input for three-month evaluations based on training and experience.
  13. Perform crisis management in the absence of EVS Leadership.
  14. Report unsatisfactory performance or behavior to EVS Leadership.
  15. Report maintenance issues to the maintenance department via work orders.
