Job summary

Covenant Woods in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a part-time Laundry Aide to perform laundry and housekeeping duties for residents. This role involves collecting resident laundry, stocking linens, and keeping laundry and linen areas clean and organized.

Responsibilities include assisting Health & Wellness staff with daily tasks and maintaining proper cleanliness standards in all care areas. The position requires ability to lift up to 25 lbs and comfortable wearing PPE as needed.

Salary Range: $16.50 - $21.00 Hourly

Responsible for carrying out all laundry requirements/request for residents in accordance with proper laundering techniques. Responsible for general cleaning techniques of resident rooms, bathrooms and/or common areas.

PAY: $16.50 - $21.00

Schedule: Part time, 7am-3pm, every other weekend only (Saturday and Sunday)

Requirements

• Has ability to be able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs and team lift up to 50lbs.
• Intact sense of sight.
• Ability to be able to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, sit, crouch, crawl & reach frequently.
• Has ability to work laundry & housekeeping equipment.
• Must be able to communicate, interpret, speak, write and read English.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for collecting personal laundry from designated resident rooms in the facility and carry out laundry duties in Health & Wellness.
• Maintain inventory of linen shelves and receive weekly linen deliveries. Must stack shelves, stock linen carts and deliver to Health & Wellness clean linen rooms. Launder and maintain linen in spa and therapy.
• Keep laundry rooms, storerooms and all clean linen rooms clean & sanitary.
• Assist Health & Wellness housekeepers with daily housekeeping duties.
• Performs all other duties assigned.

Job Specifications

• Must perform daily laundry duties in Health & Wellness area and maintain the separation of all resident laundry.
• Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of linen in the Health & Wellness clean linen rooms and carts.
• Has the responsibility for keeping all areas to include common spaces clean & sanitary.
• Assist Health & Wellness housekeepers with duties as designated by the Environmental Services Supervisor, during shift.

Working Conditions

• May work in environments with dust, fumes or odors. May work inside or outside in hot or cold temperatures and in wet or dry conditions. May be subject to infections, odors, or diverse behaviors. May work around loud noise and stand on concrete.
• Usually works alone.
• Hours will be set by the Associate Director of Environmental Services and can be changed as deemed necessary to carry out work requirements.
• This is an essential personnel position and required to work during inclement weather and emergency situations.
